Dissociation, Dissociative Disorders and Partial Psychosis

Background: Dissociation may be defined as a psychopathological process in which an individual’s psyche splits into two or more parts. The division of personality is key element trauma, especially if the patient not able to cope with it. At least one part relatively understand and function objective reality, whilst other part(s) less disorganized, dysfunctional truth. Methods: literature review; conceptualization dissociation, dissociative disorders partial psychosis from medical philosophical perspective. Conclusion: core dissociation usually psychological emotional although some individuals experience without any obvious cause trigger. Carefully designed trauma-focused psychotherapy psychosocial support are considered must further studied cornerstone multidisciplinary approach treatment disorders. Dissociative identity disorder its severe form resemble characteristics psychosis. Some patients suffering have narcissistic traits, such shamelessness, magical thinking, arrogance, envy, entitlement, exploitation bad boundaries, therefore, developing healthy self-love, based on self-criticism, realistic humility, gratefulness, democratic behavior, altruism good might helpful for these patients.
